Refilling your swimming pool with a garden hose
When filling your swimming pool with water through a garden hose, avoid submersing the nozzle underwater. Reason; when you do this, you cannot hear the water…resulting in simply forgetting that you’re filling up your swimming pool. 2 hours later, the only reminder that you are still filling up your swimming pool is the water overfilling through your backyard, flooding your house!
You can avoid costly damage by doing this……
Here is a solutions to this potential flooding disaster. When filling up you pool, set the garden hose on the deck of your swimming pool. Use a rock to weight down the nozzle and direct the stream into the pool. Also, set a timer (i.e. on the stove, stopwatch, etc.) for a predetermined amount of time so you will remember to check the water level from time to time. Ideal water level for the swimming pool or spa should be mid-tile line. Swimming pool owners should get in the habit of doing.
By keeping the water level at a optimum level will allow for optimum debris flow into the skimmer (debris catch basin) to help maximize debris into the skimmer basket and reduce collection in visible areas around the swimming pool. By keeping your swimming pool at an ideal level (mid-tile line) you will also minimize the risk of running you pool circulation pump dry resulting in costly swimming pool equipment repair.
Good luck and look for more helpful tips to come!
